Bedford Library Level 3 Refurbishment - update
Work is progressing satisfactorily towards completion of the refurbishment project which will provide a much enhanced environment for silent study. For various reasons there was a one week delay in commencement of the project. Therefore the completion date of the project is now expected to be Friday 25th September. The impact to service will affect book stock on and access to Level 3. All other services are available as normal and the Bedford Library is open as usual.
The refurbishment project has resulted in the following changes to the layout and location of stock in Bedford Library:
- Books: 942 to 999 from Bedford Library Level 3 will be located on Level 1
- Journals: The last part of the Level 1 1992-to-date journal sequence will be moved from the open shelves to the rolling stacks on Level 1 from mid-J to Z in the alphabetical sequence. A to mid-J will remain on open access.
Pre-1973 volumes of Bedford Library journals will be moved to the Depository Library. Information about the provision of material from the Depository, together with the form for requesting material is available on the Depository web page.
