Library newsletter - autumn term

The latest edition of the library newsletter is now available.

This edition contains details of the summer refurbishment of level 3 of Bedford Library and the new group study facilities available in Bedford and Founder's. There are also features on the online resources available via Senate House and the revised MetaLib interface.

Information Services Staff / Student Forum

Are you a student representative? We will be holding a Staff / Student Forum on Thursday 3rd December in the Seminar Room, Level 1 of the Bedford Library, at 3.00pm. Please join us for tea, coffee and cake and share any issues or concerns you may have about the Library and IT Services.

If you are a student representative, this is an opportunity to raise with us any issues or concerns about the Library and IT Services on behalf of you and your student colleagues. The meeting will be attended by senior staff from the Library and IT Department.

If you are not a student representative, but have some issues you would like raised and discussed, please pass them through your departmental student representative, or send them by email to Matthew Brooke.

IS228 Managing Information with RefWorks

Learn how to store references and add them directly to Word documents using RefWorks, a web based reference manager, which enables you to store, retrieve and format your references from PCs and Macs anywhere on the Internet. Aimed at anyone doing a dissertation or extended piece of work, this session will enable you to:

Create your own database in RefWorks
Save book and journal references into your databases
Directly add references from your database to Word documents
Reformat your documents in different journal citation styles

Music Library - extended opening hours

In response to your feedback, the College has given the Library extra funds to extend the Music Library's opening hours until the end of the 2009/10 Session.

The revised opening hours are (as of today):

Monday – Thursday: 09.00-20.00

Friday: 09.00-17.00

Saturday: 11.30-16.30

Sunday: Closed
